Auralite is the metaphysical name given to a variety of Amethyst, belonging to the rock crystal family of stones. Sometimes referred  to as Auralite 23, it contains numerous trace elements and impurities giving it a distinct appearance. All rock crystals are composed of SiO₂ They form according to a trigonal crystal structure, and have a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.
