Bloodstone
Bloodstone is a rare gem variety of Agate (Chalcedony). Agate is the name given to a family of chemically related stones. There are over thirty distinct varieties of agate making it one of the largest families of stones. All agates are composed of SiO2 They form according to a trigonal crystal structure, and have a hardness of 7 on the Mohs scale.
A variety of prase (dark green/greenish-blue chalcedony or jasper), with small red blood-like spots.
Used as a gem. Also called heliotrope.

Each individual faceted crystal is carefully drilled and then beaded on an 18 inch stainless steel cable with a nylon overlay.
With a base metal clasp and a 5cm extension chain, it enables the wearer to lengthen the chain slightly.
