Flow With Your Menstrual Cycle

by Sharon Sztar

I’m a bitch, I’m a lover, I’m a child, I’m a mother, I’m a sinner, I’m a saint.
There are songs written about it. Our men moan about it. We tear our hair out about it. Women are dynamic complex changing beings. One minute we feel strong and independent; the next we need hugs, chocolate and warm cups of tea.
This is our nature. We ebb and flow with the tides of life. And each tide brings with it something special and unique.
When we feel strong and independent, we can fight for causes and make significant changes in the external world. When we feel more sensitive and overcome with emotion and sensation, we can go within and connect with a beautiful part of ourselves that has no home in the external world.
Neither phase is better or worse than the other. Both have a place and have value and make up the mystical and irresistible women we are.
The key is to embrace these fluctuating cycles, not resist and be overwhelmed by them.
Learning how to follow and flow with your monthly menstrual cycle is perhaps the most important thing women can learn to do in their lives.
Yet it’s never taught. We’re just told about sanitary items and how to get or not get pregnant; never about the true meaning of menstruation and the gifts that leading a cyclical life bestows on us as women.
It’s never too late. I learnt it at the age of 40 and it changed my life.
I’m passionate about sharing this wisdom and passing it down to the generations of women feeling as if they are at the mercy of their cycles, rather than blessed by them.
If you’d like to learn how to harmonise your life and your cycles for optimum wellbeing, join me at my next workshop on Sunday, 22 July. Details in link.
