Sodalite
Sodalite is a royal blue tectosilicate mineral (Na ₈Cl ₂). It usually forms in it’s massive or ‘rock like’ habit. It is opaque being widely used as an ornamental gemstone. Although massive sodalite samples are opaque, rare crystals are usually transparent to translucent. It has a hardness of 5.5-6on the Mohs scale.
These necklaces are deigned to be both practical and beautiful.
Each individual faceted crystal is carefully drilled and then beaded on an 18 inch stainless steel cable with a nylon overlay.
With a base metal clasp and a 5cm extension chain, it enables the wearer to lengthen the chain slightly.
